Abattoir is an episode sectioned Christian movie produced by Mount Zion Faith Ministry scripted by Damilola Mike-Bamiloye revealing a blend of Christian actors such as Kayode Owojori, who is a veteran Christian actor took on the role of Chief Sanya alongside other actors.
Episode 3 Storyline:
The episode started with Baba Gbenro having a vision inform of a dream where Chief Sanya was in a fiery state, screaming "Martins". He woke up startled. Chief Durosanya called Martins on phone challenging him to come back home and talking about the past. Martins insisted that he couldn’t be a part of his father’s darkness but his father mocked him challengingly, taunting him to return home to prove that he was indeed not afraid and that he carried light. The call left Martins Durosanya in a low mood as he turned down an invite from his students to Minister God’s word to them. He later agreed to preach to the students after a bit of persuasion, although he recognized that the state of his heart was bitter and he needed God’s healing. Thereafter, Chief Sanya visited the grandmaster of his cultist group to request for more power, where he can control the decision of who runs the affairs of the nation and decide who is president. He stated that the desire of possessing the ‘heart of the secret seer” in the fraternity was his next attempt, the grandmaster frankly told him that his son, Martins would have to take over his current post of the secret seer, as only his blood relative can take the position he leaves for another. The shift in position is what would give him that access he desires. The grandmaster informed him that his son would surely be required to occupy his current position if he must move up.
Martins Durosanya attended the student fellowship and ministered to them. In the meantime, Inspector Gbade displayed his obvious irritation regarding the dis-interest of martins in responding to his fathers’ call. After much deliberation, the two friends agreed that the best way forward would be to invite Martins Durosanya spiritually. Inspector Gbade insisted that since Martins didn’t respond to a physical call, he would surely respond to a spiritual call. A young student, Dele Durogbola visited Martins Durosanya in his office to reveal how his step-mother Lizzy had molested him sexually for 6 years since he was 10years and warned him never to reveal to his father all that she did to him. Dele explained that he got his freedom from the ministration of Martins and decided to seek help. Martins explained to Dele that his freedom in Christ has been obtained as Jesus hung on the tree, it was time to expose the devil in the form of Dele’s stepmother.
In another clime, a new stage to call Martins Durosanya spiritually was set, as a herbalist was invited to Chief Durosanya’s home for the spiritual assignment. Martins got in touch with Dele’s father and they arranged a meeting. He revealed to the father that his son, Dele had been molested for several years by the woman he called a wife. Mr Durogbola was obviously broken but he hid it well and stayed in denial, then sent Martins out of his car. However, Dele, being strengthened by the Spirit of God decided to report to the Police, who then took up the matter and eventually his stepmom, Lizzy was arrested. Mr Durogbola was heartbroken but listened to the speech of his son, Dele about how Christ met with him and gave him a new life.
Baba Gbenro spoke to Martins on phone regarding his dream and encouraged Martins to preach Jesus to his father. Martins remained indignant stating that his father is occultic and should be left to his own craftiness. Baba Gbenro tried all he could to convince Martins to break the yoke of un-forgiveness and let the past be, while Martins refused.
As the spiritual call ritual started by midnight, Martins name was called thrice and his spirit rose up in response to the call; simultaneously, Baba Gbenro got a spiritual nudge and shouted the name of Jesus. He prayed violently and got victory on behalf of Martins, who was already entering the lion’s den. The Lord’s mercy saved him, returned his soul back to his body and set the ritual spot on fire.
Let’s dive in together and share some of the learnings from Episode 3 of the movie.
Lessons to learn:
Lesson #1 “Heal my past, restore my present, renew my future.
This phrase was said by the character Martins Durosanya as he recognized his own bitterness of heart. Psalm 24:3-4 “Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.” The bitterness of heart is a hindrance to the flow of God’s presence in the heart of a believer. Anyone experiencing a bitter heart should pray the prayer of David in Psalm 51:10 “Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.”
Lesson #2 “God is the giver of power.”
The difficulties of life notwithstanding, receiving Jesus Christ would give you the power to be saved. John 1:12 ‘For as many that believes Him, to them He gave the power to be called the son of God” Receiving Christ by faith makes one to be adopted into the family of Christ. Dele Durogbola received Christ as soon as he accepted Christ and He got the seed of righteousness inputted into him.
Lesson #3 ‘Have nothing to do with unfruitful works of darkness”
Ephesians 5: 11 “Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.” Deliverance comes when the devil is exposed. Sin thrives and grows in the darkness, but an introduction of light weakens the darkness. All unfruitful works of darkness are from the pit of hell and are unreal, the only way to handle them is to expose them! Don’t keep quiet when molested, because the predator would not stop until he/she has been exposed.
Lesson #4 ‘Christ has redeemed you from the curse of the law”
The invoice of your salvation reads “free”, which in other words means ‘paid in full”. The meaning of that is you have become free from the grips of the devil and every sin that was listed against you because Christ has paid the price. You are free. Galatians 3:13 “Christ has redeemed us out of the curse of the law, having become a curse for us, (for it is written, Cursed is every one hanged upon a tree,)”
Lesson #5 ‘You can be a great minister in school, but if you lack the love of God, you are just making noise”
The desire of Jesus for all His minister is that we speak and live in love to all mankind. It is impossible to minister to people when the spirit of unforgiveness rules your heart. The devil traps a believer who refuses to love others irrespective of what the person has done. Love is the language in the Kingdom of God, for God Himself is love. “If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels but have not love, I am nothing. If I understand all mysteries and have all faith so as to move a mountain and have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have and deliver my body to be burned and have not love" 1 Corinthians 13:1–3. It is impossible to be a minister of God and lack love, which is God; for love is of God and anyone that loves not, does not know God. 1 John 4:7-8
