Hello Heirs of God. Episode 2 of the movie titled ABATTOIR has been released….Yaay! If you did not catch the lessons from episode 1, catch it here. Abattoir is an episode sectioned Christian movie produced by Mount Zion Faith Ministry scripted by Damilola Mike-Bamiloye revealing a blend of Christian actors such as Kayode Owojori, who is a veteran Christian actor took on the role of Chief Sanya alongside other actors.

Storyline: The episode started with a walk in the past, revealing all the past events in the life of Martin Sanya. The stage opened with Martins Sanya who attended a rough party with his school friend, Victor. At the party, he was introduced to hard drugs, drinks and dance. The stage followed by a discussion between two friends, Chief Sanya and his co-ritualist friend, Gbade who was also an Inspector General in the Police and nicknamed Big Daddy by his young girl friend. Chief Sanya reminded Gbade his friend that it was his turn that night to sacrifice in the fraternity which they both belonged. They went on to discuss about the murder of late Mrs. Sanya and the reasons why loved ones needed to be sacrificed, which was to obtain glory. The IG was sober, stating that they had become monsters by joining the fraternity, and it was too late to bail out.

Big daddy received a call from Jumoke, a young undergraduate lady who believed that having Sugar daddies was the norm and had its benefits. She refused the counsel of her roommate, Ruth, who tried to caution her from such. Jumoke set up a meeting time with Big daddy and left for her outing. Young Martins Sanya on the other hand was becoming a shadow of himself. His head teacher complained about his behaviour in school. It became obvious that he was going through a lot of confusion because he stumbled on the ritual gadgets belonging to his father. He mingled with the wrong friends, gave way to drinking and taking hard drugs, while challenging his father of killing his mother.

It became rather a sad sight to behold, watching as the young Martins Sanya continued to deteriorate. Big daddy on the other hand sacrificed jumoke, the young undergraduate lady during their next meeting, killing her gruesomely and discarded her body carelessly where it was later discovered. Martins Sanya, after a wild night woke up in the gutter, while Victor his friend was discovered underneath his father’s car and punished severely by his own father. Gbade advised Chief Sanya to create a better future for his son, Martins. They both agreed that was a better way to protect him from the mess in Chief Sanya’s life, by linking Martins with a perfect example of a man, worthy of emulation. Chief Sanya arranged for his boy to be taken to far-away Osun State to the house of Baba who became Martins mentor.

Let’s dive in together and share some of the learnings from Episode 2 of the movie.

Lessons to learn:

Lesson #1 “Not all that glitters is gold’

This phrase was said by the character Ruth, as she tried to dissuade her roommate Jumoke from pursuing sugar daddies, but rather opt for Christ. Proverbs 13:7-8 says “A pretentious, showy life is an empty life; a plain and simple life is a full life. The truth is that there are lots of wolves dressed in sheep clothing who pretend to mean well but actually are selfish and seek only their personal pleasures. Following the appearance of gold or being tempted by it can become a trap for a believer.

Hmm, attraction to gold occurs as a result of personal needs, desires, attractions or challenges, it would be better to follow the counsel in the word of God ‘“Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God” (Philippians 4:6)

Lesson #2 “Blessed is the man who works not in the counsel of the ungodly.”

Martins Sanya got misled by Victor to go with him to the wild party where he was introduced to drugs and drinks. Hanging out with corrupt people under the name of friendship will make someone lean towards fleshy impulses and misbehavior.

Psalm 1:1 ‘Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.’

The moment you allow an evil counsel to take root in your heart, you expose yourself to your own sinful nature, and gets carried away in sin. This leads to a fall out with God and a loss of blessing.

Lesson #3 ‘Don’t allow satan blind you from seeing the danger that God is trying to shield you from’

John 10: 10 “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”

Ruth tried so hard to help her roommate realize that it was just the devil’s gimmick convincing her to live a wayward life. There are dangers all around and to live a life of purpose, a life of meaning and a life of safety, this can only be gotten by abiding with God.
